There’s a very picturesque walk from Slaithwaite to Marsden which takes about an hour along the canal. Once you get to Marsden, there’s a super real ale pub called the Riverhead to quench your thirst. They’ve a good range of hand pulled beers & lagers on tap including their own brews. It’s an earthy, friendly place where dogs are welcome and there’s a superb dining room upstairs if you’re in need of some sustenance. Finally, if you’re too tired (or tipsy) to walk back to Slaithwaite, you can always use the regular train service.
